Our organization donates crates free of charge to partnering shelters and rescues to give to their fosters and adopters.
We will be supplying fosters and adopters of shelter dogs with crates to make the transition to a new home environment easier and safer.
We believe that crate training is so vital with any dog, but it is especially vital for any shelter dog entering a new home..even MORE so if there is already a resident dog in that home!
Dogs need ample time to acclimate to new environments and other animals. Even the nicest, most friendly dogs should be given the luxury of TIME when settling in.
Crate training does just that! It provides a 100% safe, closed-off space that allows dogs to get used to their new environment and other dogs in the home.
If you are a shelter or volunteer who may be interested in partnering up with us on our newest venture, please fill out the contact form below and someone from our team will reach out to you for more info!
Note: we are initially starting with Southern/Central CA in our program’s beginning stages, with plans to expand throughout the US.
We believe utilizing crate training is a vital necessity for every dog owner -ESPECIALLY when you are fostering or adopting a shelter dog!
Dogs actually love crates when they are introduced properly. They consider it a safe space and a "den" that they can escape to for peace and privacy. A crate should never, ever be a "scary" environment or used as a form of "punishment" for a dog. Instead, it's a place for them to relax without any distractions from the outside world. It helps anxious behavior and hyperactivity. It also helps introduce dogs to a new environment in a completely safe manner.
Crate training is extremely vital in training a dog. It shows your pup that it is important and necessary for them to "relax" throughout the day. It creates structure and it also allows them to mellow out. It is especially important when taking home a puppy who has over-the-top energy and is always ready for fun. Plus, it allows for YOU to have some time to yourself, without worrying what your dog may get into while you are preoccupied with other tasks.
